Heike Purdon is the owner/operator of 4 Cats, 4 Dogs, and a Moe!
Heike has trained dogs since 2001, first gaining exposure to this field when she and her husband adopted a skittish dog that needed help. They enrolled him in a class and saw great improvement in his behavior. As a result, Heike gained a strong interest in dog obedience and behavior, and sought training in the field. She attended Animal Behavior College, graduating as a certified dog trainer, and completed an apprenticeship in this role.
As she learned more about the field, Heike became an advocate for positive reinforcement techniques in dog training. She has employed these methods in training dogs at since 2011.
In addition to offering obedience classes, Heike has experience in the training of service dogs. She has partnered with a Louisville based veteran's organization.
Heike is also versed in behavioral adjustment work, specializing in addressing the behaviors of shy, fearful and aggressive dogs.
Heike remains involved in the industry through her affiliations with the APDT and American Kennel Club, for which she is a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
What's a Moe?
Moe was a stray cat that showed up at Andy's and Heike's house. They couldn't find his original owners, so they started to take care of him. Moe thanked them for the good deed in a way that only cat lovers can appreciate.
